There are primarily three JCP's pictured here (I didn't come up with any of the names):

1. "Pirate Hans" is my male.
2. "Jungle Boogie" is my big female. I don't know if she's a pure JCP (if there is such a thing). She was given to me and the previous owner had been told that she would become "reddish" as she got older. Makes me wonder if someone was trying a jungle-coastal carpet cross. I don't know.
3. My unnamed female is striped and is from VPI stock.

This is Pirate Hans and my striped female, November 2002. I put them in this box when I'm changing their cage and they hate it! Taking the lid off is like unplugging a dam - they both come pouring out.
Here's my striped female hanging out on my arm, November 2002. She loves to climb around on me and if left alone, she will usually wrap herself around my head like a turban and stay there. I had a hard time in this picture trying to keep her at enough of a distance to get her whole body in the shot.
Pirate Hans is just as much a wiggle worm as the others. This is him November 2002. Unlike the striped female, Pirate Hans will look for the quickest escape route to the floor. Trying to get him to sit still for a picture like this is impossible.
Jungle Boogie in Feb 2002. She was coming out every morning and basking right under the heat lamp in a tight coil.
After the cycling period ended, Jungle Boogie swelled up and shed. I put her in a nest box and crossed my fingers. I guess that it wasn't enough. This photo was taken during Feb 2002.
Here is my striped female in Jan 2002. She was with Pirate Hans for most of the winter cycle and did not become gravid. In a way I am glad, after putting them together I thought that it would probably be better for her to wait until she's a little bigger. I'll get her weight up this year.
Here's photographic proof that a love connection was made. Unfortunately, both of those tails belonged to my friend's snakes. This was taken during Jan 2002.
This male belongs to a friend of mine. I used him as an additional breeder during the 2001-2002 winter along with a female that my friend also owns. This male was with all three females that I had here and the only one that became gravid was my friend's female! I was very put out.
This is my striped female during the summer of 2001. This gives you birds-eye view of the stripe down her back. When I bought her from VPI they said that she was part of a striped JCP project of theirs. One day I will ask for details of the project and what type of genetics are involved.
This is Pirate Hans during the summer of 2001. He's a decent looking snake but he is about 5' long now and is only eating mice. :( Even with frozen mice it's expensive at 4 large mice per week. I wish he'd get a clue and start taking rats...
